27 May 2012, Sunday, 12:33 a.m.

I have been so busy this entire week that I haven’t had a chance to sit down and update this stagnant space. Many many things to blog about. Hopefully I’ll have the time to do so. I’m going to JB tomorrow with my parents and sister (the other sister is staying at home to mug for her Chinese O’s on Monday haha poor kid) yay. I am super tired. Goodnight may everyone have a pleasant week ahead (:

The story that has been told one time too many

18 April 2012 - the day before my twentieth birthday and, little did I know, the day I officially broke my fast from love.

That very day, I was awakened from my peaceful slumber by my dear mother who drew the curtains open as she gently said, “Good morning princess, it’s time to wake up”. Although it was really sweet to wake up to her voice and being called a princess, I found it strange that she woke me up because she usually lets me sleep in. I fumbled for my spectacles and after putting them on, I saw this huge polka-dotted box with a striking red lid in front of my bed. At first I was stunned because I thought the box belonged to my sisters and I couldn’t figure out why they left it there, but I saw that the box was addressed to me. This led me to exclaim “oh my gosh” as my mommy laughed at me. So I opened the box:

It was an outfit! I felt like a princess. He always makes me feel like I’m a princess. Before this, I was telling him I had no idea what to wear for our date to celebrate my birthday but he told me I would magically know on that day itself. No wonder! Mommy woke me up because she wanted to see my reaction and thought it would be wasted if no one was there to witness it.

Not going into details about the letter but if you must know, it started with “Morning Beautiful” and ended with “See you tonight love” hahaha.

So I bummed around my home for a bit and when it was time, I got ready…

…and my handsome prince finally came to pick me up!

Off we went to Dempsey Road to have dinner at Beets. It was a pretty quiet restaurant with good ambience. When we first arrived, there wasn’t anyone in the room we were seated at so Javin kept saying that he booked the entire place for us haha!

The food was good! We shared potato and leek soup, some tomato soup, this mushroom chee cheong fun thing (I love chee cheong fun omg) and a tofu burger which came with sides. I must say they were pretty generous with the portions and the bread which they automatically refilled for us so we were so stuffed that night…

After dinner, we headed to Cold Stone for some ice cream! Javin had some Chocolate thing and I had the Strawberries and Banana one. Yum yum in our tum tum.

So after our ice cream, we went on our way home. Or so I thought. Halfway through the journey, Javin made me put this blindfold on. He even lowered the seat and played classical music lol! I was so shocked. “There’s more!?” He is always full of surprises.

Soon we reached this secret location. I could hear construction going on and I had to walk up this long slope (can you guess where yet?) It was really scary and I had to hold on really tightly to him. Maybe that was his intention… Haha! Finally, after what seemed like a never-ending road of obstacles, we were at that special spot!

At this point in time, I was still blindfolded. I feel so shy typing out the rest of the details so I will do it very quickly! HAHA. So he held me in his arms and when it was seconds to midnight, he counted down and when the clock struck twelve, he took off the blindfold. The view was beautiful and being there with him made it even more so.

He presented me with a bouquet of roses in the middle of the grass field in Marina Barrage and… (omg shy hahahahahhahahahahah) sang me a birthday song. K I know very drama and sappy but I promised I would record all this down.

Shortly after, Claudia called to wish me happy birthday. As I was talking to her, Javin said he needed to go to the restroom for a while, which I believed because he told me his stomach wasn’t well during dinner. After a short while, I received a call from him while I was still talking to Claudia so I had to put her on hold. “Go towards your left and look down.” I did, and I saw this:

How could I say no?

I met him halfway down the slope and we held each other, as a couple for the first time. I was overflowing with happiness. Although we were already more than friends before the day we got together and technically it was just a change in the official status, it meant a lot to me. It was difficult, especially for him because I couldn’t let go of my fears. It was always difficult for him, right from the start. I know I caused him a lot of hurt that he had to carry with him throughout our friendship ): Until now I don’t understand how he could still love me with all his heart despite my cold treatment and friendzoning, but I’m glad he did, because he has grown to be someone very important to me. I’ve learnt so much from him, even before feelings came into the picture for me, and I’m thankful that he was brought into my life.

So… I just wanna say: Thank you; for giving me the courage to believe; for being there for me at my lowest and at my highest; for being so patient and understanding with me; for always taking care of me; and, last but not least, for making me the happiest I have been in a long, long time :’) I love you. ♡

14 May 2012, Monday, 2:54 a.m.

I don’t mean to get all nauseatingly mushy on my blog but I really need to get this out of my system or I am going to lay in bed the whole night listening to sentimental love songs which make me feel worse hahahaha. Here goes.

I cannot believe this, but… (oh my goodness I can’t believe I am typing this) I miss you so much. ): I knew I would miss you but we have never not seen each other for more than three days (I think) since the year started, so it feels a little strange knowing I won’t be seeing you for the next seven days.

To prove that I am fine on my own, I came up with an awesome seven-day boyfriend-in-Korea survival plan for myself while you bask in the company of Korean girls and savour delicious Korean food. Oh and if you are reading this, remember: passport, wallet, handphone!!!!

I can’t wait for you to be back.

a week of freedom

I remember, somewhere in the middle of last semester, I said I couldn’t wait for finals to be over. It was both a bad and the best semester for me so far, in more ways than I expected. I’ll probably write a post about this when I have more time. Initially, I wanted to accept an internship for this summer holidays but now I just want to spend time with my loved ones (goodness knows whether I will get to do so in such a way in future), so guess that will leave me with more time to bum around hahahahaha okay I am kidding. Hopefully, this summer I will improve myself as a daughter, sister, girlfriend, friend and person.

Need to update this space with:

  1. Last semester
  2. My birthday
  3. Post-finals

Hope May has been lovely for everyone (:
